DESCRIPTION:GWO is a non-profit industry association founded and owned by its members who are drawn from globally leading renewable energy manufacturers\, owners and operators. The members strive for an injury free work environment\, setting common international standards for safety training and workforce development. \nGWO training standards describe the requirements for training courses that are recommended be members of GWO. By complying with GWO standards and criteria\, certified training providers are considered competent and proficient. Any training participant with a current training record in GWO’s WINDA database is considered competent and knowledgeable according to the learning objectives of that standard. GWO members accept the training record as confirmation the participant possesses the required knowledge and competences as described in the standard. \nRequirements\n\nminimum age of 18 years;\nmedically fit;\nthe participant shall have created a personal profile in WINDA\, and have provided their WINDA ID prior to completing the GWO training;\nwhen attending refresher training\, the course participants must do so before the expiry of the previous training record’s validity period.\n\nDuration\n2 days training course \nValidity\n2 years \nOutcome\nCrain and hoist – the modules are aiming at ensuring awareness for the safe use and maintenance of lifting equipment. Because of the very generic scope that covers general components and functionalities of small fixed cranes and hoists\, further familiarisation or additional equipment specific training must be expected on the actual work site. Furthermore\, the requirement to follow the relevant lifting equipment manufacturers’ manuals as well as legislation and duty holders’ procedures is emphasised throughout the standard.
